šŸ“šŸ«NOT Chocolate Covered Strawberries šŸ“šŸ«

Looking for a super easy, quick, last minute, and delicious Valentines Day treat? These are fun to make and even more fun to eat (just ask my son who ate multiple when I was trying to take a picture šŸ˜œ)

Confectionery wafers/candy melts are not legally allowed to be considered chocolate because they do not contain cocoa butter. They do not require tempering, so itā€™s all melt and go! My favorite brand of these is Ghirardeli. They arenā€™t as waxy as some other ones Iā€™ve tried. I do think they are slightly sweeter than standard chocolate and have a softer texture.

Check out my stories for a couple of different ways to make the designs. I used a corn on the cob holder to skewer the strawberry when dipping instead of holding by the leaves.

šŸ¬INGREDIENTSšŸ¬

-strawberries

-confectionery wafers (candy melts)

šŸ¬INSTRUCTIONSšŸ¬

1.Wash and dry strawberries. Strawberries must be very dry and room temperature before dipping.

2.Melt candy melts according to package instructions.Dip strawberry and allow excess to drop off.

3.Place on parchment paper. Candy melts will harden at room temperature, no need for fridge.Enjoy the same day!

For ā€œzebraā€ striping (colors are flush with one another):

Drizzle second candy melt color over top of strawberry immediately after the initial dip. Gently tap strawberry on side of bowl, allowing excess to drip off.

For textured contrast (colors sit on top of one another)

Allow initial dip of candy melt to harden. Drizzle second color over top of first.
