Tell me I’m not the only one who suffers from granola sticker shock. My favorite brand of granola is $7.29 a bag!! Why?? By the time it’s made in the factory, packaged, shipped, put on the store shelf, and gotten to my bowl its all crumbs. The big clusters are the best part! I’m not paying that price for a bag of crumbs 🤷🏼♀️
Also you might be thinking, “Wait a minute Hannah, granola is not candy!” Yup, you are right! However... in food manufacturing one of the things you really don’t want is down time on a factory line. Companies try to fill the time up as much as possible to keep things running and making more money. A lot of confectionery equipment is the same type of equipment to make other foods.
For example, if a company has a way to make:
peanut brittle = granola
gummy bears= gummy vitamins
candy bars = nutrition bars
You’d be surprised to know how many foods are made by the candy industry!
✨My Instagram stories have the quick clip of me making them and all candy videos are saved on my highlights.✨
